Minnesota Timberwolves Record: Points per game in a Single Season (Kevin Love, 26.1)
Player to watch: Karl-Anthony Towns

To break the Minnesota Timberwolves points per game record for a single season, one would have to go with the most dominant player on the team, Karl-Anthony Towns.

The current record is 26.1 points per game and that was set by Kevin Love during the 2013-2014 season in which he played 77 games. This record isn’t out of reach by any means. Over his career, KAT has averaged 18.3, 25.1, 21.3, 24.4, 26.5 (only 35 games played in 2019) and now 24.8 points per game. He got very close in 2016 and in 2018 but the time he has missed as of late has prevented him from reaching the qualifying mark.

Assuming Towns can stay healthy and plays around 72 games or more in 2021, this record should be a piece of cake. As the number one scoring option, the offense flows through him. He’s one of the best offensive centers in the NBA behind Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokić. If he’s fully recovered and ready to go next season, he’ll once again be putting up monster numbers and scoring very efficiently, especially from beyond the arc.

Towns may be the most gifted offensive player in Timberwolves history and this upcoming season could be the one where he proves it to all the doubters.
