Minnesota Timberwolves Record: 3-Pointers Made in a Single Season (Kevin Love, 190)

Player to watch: Anthony Edwards

The 2020 NBA Draft’s 1st overall pick, Anthony Edwards, would be the guy to break the Minnesota Timberwolves 3-pointers made in a single-season record.

Edwards was shooting at a high clip in his rookie season, already breaking Kevin Love’s 3-point attempts record, now it’s time to look at not only shooting at a high volume but converting those opportunities. In 2020 Edwards made 171 of his 520 3-point attempts, a measly 32.9 percent conversion rate. With a full offseason to improve the accuracy on his jumper, saying that Edwards will break the record isn’t a prediction, it’s a spoiler.

While appearing in all 72 games in 2020, Edwards only started 55 of those. With the NBA going back to the complete 82-game schedule in 2021 and Edwards, presumably, starting the entire season, he should easily be able to reach and surpass the record barring a severe sophomore slump or injury.

The current record is held by now Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love who made 190 3-pointers during his 2012-2013 season in Minnesota. With the record being only 20 threes away, Edwards had a very real possibility of breaking it last season. Since that didn’t happen, it’s almost all but guaranteed to happen in 2021.
