The Wizards are going to go as far as their stars can take them this season. They are not a team that relies on the contributions of role players, they rely on three main players. These are Westbrook, Beal, and Bertans.

Westbrook is leading the league in triple-doubles this season, collecting 34 with five games remaining. He has been accused of stat-padding but when he collects a triple-double, the Wizards have a 19-15 record. This seems pretty meaningful for the team if they result in more wins than losses.
As a result, the point guard is going to lead the league in assists for the third time. Keeping Westbrook finding his teammates like this down the stretch is certainly going to help the team win. It helps to have one of the better scorers in the league to make shots and Beal has done that all year.
The coaching staff needs to limit his shots though. As mentioned earlier, the Wizards have a 1-6 record when Beal scores more than 40 points. They have a 19-6 record when Beal scores between 30 and 39 points.
Since coming to the Wizards, Bertans has shown that he is a true marksman from deep, when in the right system. This season he has made four or more 3-point shots in 17 games. The Wizards are 12-5 in those games so getting him the ball behind the line is a key to their success.
