Pistons poised for a late surge: Frank Jackson

Frank Jackson? Yeah, Frank Jackson.

Since joining the Pistons earlier this season, Jackson has had some highs and lows. Over the last 14 games, however, he’s played in every one, and started four of them. Jackson is averaging 9.9 points in 19..3 minutes per game, shooting 47.4 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from 3-point range.

More from Detroit Pistons

Like Stewart, Jackson may benefit from the treatment of veterans in front of him. The most obvious path for him to play more would be an increase of DNP-CDs for Wayne Ellington. Mind you, Ellington is only sitting on the front end of back-to-backs, but if that number goes up Jackson stands to gain.

Pistons poised for a late surge: Hamidou Diallo

On a team full of new Pistons, Hamidou Diallo is among the newest. He was acquired via trade from the OKC Thunder in exchange for Svi Mykhailiuk, and he is as close to a “Weaver guy” as you can get. Standing 6’5″, he has incredible length with a 7’2″ wingspan, and he has jump-out-of-the-gym athleticism that really pops off the film screen at you.

Coming off an injury, Diallo has been eased into the rotation in the early stages of his Piston career, but the organization has signaled a readiness to commit long-term to him in free agency this summer. He could be a Piston for a long time, so now is the time for him to spread his wings and show what he can do as his own opportunities increase.
