Despite missing Kevin Durant since February 13, March was a great month for the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets had the best winning percentage (84.6 percent) and have forced their way into a dog fight for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Kyrie Irving led the league in scoring at 30.2 points per game, James Harden was second in assists per game (12.5) Heck, even 10-day contract player Alize Johnson impressed with a 23 point, 15 rebound performance.

Everything went the Nets way, including nabbing Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge in the buyout market. Many outspoken fans made it known that they thought this was the unfair amalgamation of a super team, ignoring how these former stars had played of late.

It turns out, the stars themselves may have ignored the past as well. Blake Griffin is dunking again, showing impressive flashes of the player he used to be far more often than he did with the Detroit Pistons over the last two seasons.

Aldridge grabbed nine rebounds in his debut, double his season average thus far. Considering they should be looked at as, at best, the fourth and fifth options on a healthy Nets squad maybe there is some merit to the outcry. Perhaps the rich do just get richer. Kevin Durant is coming back today.
