Normalcy in the NBA! Or at least what passes for it, as the league’s crackdown on COVID health and safety protocols appears to be getting the job done. No teams are currently sidelined and at least on the court, business goes on as usual. Some teams are even starting to get back into winning gear, like Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks.

Of course, the Mavs missed a large portion of their roster for the heaviest part of the league’s darkest days so far. As they came back, it appears that the team is clicking again as well.

NBA MVP Race Player Rankings: Week 6

Let’s get started on this week’s NBA MVP Race Player Rankings. First, our ground rules as laid out way back in Week 1:

"This won’t be an exact science as we’re not going to be plugging everybody’s BPM, RPM and PIPM into a calculator and dividing by 36 minutes. It’s going to use healthy amounts of recency bias, popular narrative, team success (or lack thereof) and whatever other elements I choose to incorporate at a given time. It could be messy, chaotic and a bit unpredictable, and it’s certainly going to get flipped on its head every week."

We’re going to waste no time and get right into our snubs. These players are just outside the top 10, and in some cases we know they’re never going to be legitimate NBA MVP candidates because their team won’t win enough, but their recent play earns them mention here. Others, they’re the wing-man to a superstar on their own team. Our snubs run the gamut here.

Let’s get started by going over this week’s snubs, and this period ranked includes all games played since the afternoon of February 2nd.
