NBA Trade Rumors: 3 teams that should pursue a trade for Victor Oladipo

Team No. 1 that should pursue a trade for Victor Oladipo – Dallas Mavericks
With a 10-14 record, the Dallas Mavericks have arguably been the NBA’s most disappointing team this season as they are 14th in the Western Conference. With their struggles continuing to grow with each passing game, they need to shake things up ahead of the trade deadline, and Oladipo could be a feasible candidate.
Like the other two potential suitors listed, the Mavericks need a surefire third star to complement their top tandem. Luka Dončić has shouldered a substantial portion of the load for Dallas this season, doing his best to keep the team afloat as his co-star, Kristaps Porziņģis, continues struggling. Porziņģis underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in the offseason and has justifiably looked rusty in his 13 appearances this season.
The ship is slowly sinking for Dallas, and this team needs to do something before it is too late to salvage their season. The New York Knicks own Dallas’ first-round pick in this upcoming draft, and finishing near the bottom of the conference without the pick is a worst-case scenario for the Mavericks. Looking for an immediate boost, trading for a two-time All-Star is certainly worth consideration in that regard.
Victor Oladipo would provide the Mavericks with someone who can help alleviate the scoring duties next to Dončić while playing capable defense on the opposite end. While he does not help their floor spacing issues, Oladipo might be worth the gamble regardless.
Set to become a free agent after the season, that would still allow Dallas to keep their financial window open to make a run at some top-tier names who will be available this offseason. This move is more about the present for a team performing far below expectations.
