LA Clippers: Trade target No. 5 – George Hill, OKC Thunder

George Hill has not been able to find a steady home over the past few seasons in the league, and he might not want to settle down with the OKC Thunder just yet either. Thunder general manager Sam Presti made it clear this offseason that he was not afraid to trade away the team’s key pieces if it meant he could load up on future assets, and Hill could be next.

If the veteran floor general is indeed available for trade, the LA Clippers need to inquire. Being given the opportunity to start full-time with OKC rather than serve as a sixth man, Hill has been having his best season in several years. Through 14 games, the guard is averaging 11.8 points on .508/.386/.840 shooting splits, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

The Clippers are in the market for a veteran guard, and Hill fits the bill. The 34-year-old would provide them with an experienced leader that can score the ball and make plays for others, both of which the team needs. On top of that, Hill’s current financial situation is also relatively comparable with LA’s financial limitations.

The guard is on the books for $9.6 million this season and only has a partially guaranteed salary for next year. If interested, that makes putting together a potential trade offer relatively easy for the LA Clippers, and they should check in.
