Brooklyn Nets free agent target No. 3 – Courtney Lee

The Brooklyn Nets will not find many 3-and-D specialists still unsigned on the free agent market at this point. However, one that they should consider is Courtney Lee, who has made a 12-year career out of his gritty presence on the defensive end.

Many have forgotten about Lee, and justifiably so as he has spent most of the past two seasons spectating from the sidelines. Battling through injuries that have kept him primarily out of the rotation, the guard has played in just 58 games over the past two seasons with the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks.

The Nets need to shore up their defense, and the veteran Lee would be a solid option on the wing. Standing at 6’5″ and weighing in at 215 lbs, the guard is versatile on that end of the floor and can chase opponents off the perimeter when necessary. Lee could surely help the Brooklyn Nets’ defensive shortcomings while also providing some welcoming contributions on the offensive end. The guard is a 38.8 percent career shooter from distance, and that floor spacing could be useful for a Brooklyn team that ranks 21st in 3-point percentage.

Courtney Lee is certainly not the first name that many would pick out for Brooklyn to target, but he could give them a savvy veteran that helps on both ends of the floor.
