3. The Golden State Warriors are a top-notch organization

No team has proven itself more successful since Stephen Curry entered the league than the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors rank first in titles (three), NBA Finals appearances (tied with the Miami Heat with five), playoff wins (86) and have three of the four highest single-season win totals. Since Curry hit his prime, the Warriors blow away the competition.

While no team can expect to replicate that level of success, this organization figures to be elite for years to come. Head coach Steve Kerr has proven himself capable of maximizing Curry’s game, and he owns nearly sterling job security, as only Nick Nurse has a better career winning percentage.

The front office has proven itself to be active and willing to take risks. General manager Bob Myers and his team managed cap space to sign Kevin Durant in the summer of 2016, then in 2019 when he prepared to leave they spearheaded a sign-and-trade move that ultimately looks to turn into Andrew Wiggins and a high lottery pick in 2021.

Finally, and perhaps the most important factor, is that the Warriors are owned by a man in Joe Lacob who is not afraid to spend money to maximize the competitiveness of his team. He waded deep into the luxury tax this offseason to add Kelly Oubre Jr.

Some stars might be concerned signing a large contract would preclude their team from staying competitive, but Lacob will spend around and on top of Curry’s deal to keep this team winning. Few, if any organizations across the league would be better to tie one’s career to.
