Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards had a better draft night than they could have hoped for. Deni Avdija falling to them at nine is a huge win and should be able to make an impact immediately. The trade should not be a priority for them if they are angling to bring back Davis Bertans but his market is likely to be quite competitive so Wood is a solid option instead.

Jerome Robinson was solid in the bubble and is worth taking a look at for Detroit. In the seeding games in the NBA bubble, he shot 36.7 percent from long range on 6.1 attempts per game He boasted a solid 55.5 true shooting percentage over that time as well. Without much of an opportunity on a healthier Wizards team, it makes sense for him to find a place elsewhere.

The Wizards have at least a first and a second-round pick in each of the next six drafts and could consider parting with a couple of second-rounders to bring in Wood. Pairing him with Thomas Bryant would cover some of his defensive issues and he would replace some of the shooting they would lose with Bertans possibly departing.

Wood fits the timeline of Bradley Beal and the younger portion of the burgeoning Washington core. If he is going to play somewhere new connecting him with such a dynamic backcourt is tantalizing.
