1. Milwaukee Bucks

Up to this point, you should’ve figured out the main thesis of this article. Rajon Rondo could fit in perfectly with every team that has been rumored to be targeting Chris Paul this offseason.

Rondo will be cheaper than CP3. Most importantly, he will be available to be signed as a free agent. As a result, the Milwaukee Bucks can use the trade pieces that would be thrown into a Chris Paul trade to bring in even more firepower.

When the Bucks signed Mike Budenholzer in 2018, many thought that he would bring an entirely new philosophy to the team’s offense. The result, even though effective, has been quite disappointing in terms of offensive variety and playoff success.

Despite being one of the top offensive teams in the league, the Milwaukee Bucks are playing basketball like a group of middle-schoolers in PE class. You have that extremely skilled kid and a bunch of people as his supporting cast.

The whole idea of “get Giannis the ball and make yourself scarce” might work during the regular season but it’s pretty clear now that won’t work against postseason defenses where the paint is a fortress.

What the Bucks need is a head coach inside those four lines, someone to tell them exactly where they need to be at all times. A usual occurrence in these star-reliable teams, the Bucks need to get someone quickly to handle the ball when Giannis can’t.

Rondo has played with some of the finest big men of the 21st century. Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Shaquille O’Neal, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis are some of the names that could entice Giannis to make his team pursue Rondo.
