2. New York Knicks

Throughout his extensive 14-year career, Rajon Rondo has played for basically every big market team. Traveling from Boston to Dallas and Chicago, only to end up in Los Angeles. Is New York next on Rondo’s list of cities to conquer?

The New York Knicks have been in desperate need of a point guard since forever. Now, having the eighth pick in the point guard-heavy 2020 Draft could prove to be a pivotal step in completing an organizational U-turn. Let’s examine the possible scenarios for New York:

Scenario A: The Knicks draft a point guard like LaMelo Ball or Tyrese Haliburton, both of whom could acclimate themselves faster under the influence of a veteran like Rondo.

Scenario B: The Knicks go an entirely different way, drafting a forward and leave the point guard spot wide open, meaning that Rondo can slide right in there as the experienced starter.

The Knicks can do no wrong by signing a guy like Rondo. Their roster is filled with talented guys that have no idea how to run an offensive scheme. Offer them the privilege of playing around Rondo and Tom Thibodeau and the team’s offense can skyrocket.

It is still unknown whether Rondo will wish to stay with the Lakers or try his luck elsewhere. If he wishes to get his bag, though, there is no better place to do that than in New York.
