Golden State Warriors C-grades

Draymond Green – C

All eyes were on Draymond Green this season as he went through the season without his partners, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. As part of the Golden State Warriors’ “Big Three,” he was very much expected to step up in his duties as a player and a leader on the court. Unfortunately, his performance was disappointing. Green averaged only averaged 8 points per game in 43 games.

He also averaged 6.2 total rebounds, 6.2 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 1.4 steals. Draymond’s numbers do not differ drastically from his career averages but there were hopes, however, that he would have more space to shine without Steph and Klay. His field goal percentage this season of 38.9 is also far below his career average of 43.5 percent.

Jordan Poole – C+

Jordan Poole played 57 games this season, averaging a decent 8.8 points per game, along with 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists. As a guard, his shooting stats of 33.3 field goal percentage and 27.9 percent from three as to get better, but he is the second-youngest player on the team at 21 and has the drive to improve.

Mychal Mulder – C-

Playing the second-fewest games this season, Mychal Mulder was only present for 7 games. This is because Mulder was brought up from the G-League late into the season on February 27, right before the hiatus. In the few games that he did play, Mulder showed so much promise that the Warriors extended his 10-day contract to a multiyear one. He averaged 11 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. Mulder also had two career-high games, one where he scored 17 points against the Washington Wizards on March 1 and another when he scored 18 points against the Philadelphia 76ers on March 7.

Ky Bowman – C-

Ky Bowman is another rookie who was a two-way player until the Golden State Warriors offered him a guaranteed spot on the roster. This season he played 45 games, starting in 12 of them. Bowman averaged 7.4 points per game, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. His shooting numbers are less than satisfactory, with a 41.7 field goal percentage and a 30.8 3-point percentage. Bowman shoots well from the free throw line, averaging 82.9 percent, but he only attempted 0.9 of them per game.
