Eight prospects to watch in the NBA Draft’s virtual combine
By Jono Perilli
Devin Vassell
Arguably one of the more reliable and effective shooters in this year’s group of talent, Devin Vassell will be quick to prove his shooting ability at the draft combine.
Vassell hasn’t necessarily garnered a lot of hype heading into this year’s draft season. It’s not because he’s got bust potential, he just isn’t as flashy as other prospects in his potential. But Vassell is certainly one of the more NBA ready prospects coming into the league, easily. With an intriguing offensive and defensive ability, it comes as a surprise why Vassell hasn’t been talked about as much.
Vassell has the potential to become one of the more productive players in the draft and will have a lot of eyes on him during the scrimmage matches. Vassell is slated to go in the top 10, and teams who need a solid producer at the wing will be eager to watch the 6’7″ wing.
With a fantastic length on defense, Vassell is an intriguing player to watch and has caught comparisons to Tobias Harris, which makes plenty of sense. Vassell is a utility producer on both ends, with more substance over style. He has a superb team ethic and will more than likely be an immediate contributor to whatever team selects him.
Vassell does have some weak spots in his game, including his developing paint defense, but it all comes with learning as his career goes on. As the combine goes on, Vassell should enter the chat of possibly being one of the higher picks in the Top 10, possibly breaking into the top seven or six picks, depending on how teams scout him.
Devin Vassell is a super interesting prospect who will be undoubtedly looked at in his combine stint, more specifically during the scrimmages. Vassell should show whether or not, he can be an all-around threat on the court.
