Their floor: An 0-8 finish

Now this situation would cause the Suns’ front office to possibly sound the alarm.

In the worst-case scenario, the Suns would absolutely flunk out of the Orlando restart, totaling no wins and eight losses. If we’re being honest here, the Suns certainly aren’t primed for success without Oubre, and working with some of their bench players is bound to be a challenge. The Suns would have to completely tank to get to this spot, and the chances of them accomplishing that are rising at a snail’s pace.

Considering their schedule and everything involved, the chances of this happening are fairly low. The Suns could tackle some well-needed wins against some of the lesser teams, such as the Wizards and the Mavericks, no disrespect to either team. Also, this Suns squad isn’t actually terrible without Oubre, regardless of their obvious flaws on the offensive end at the wing spot. Obviously it would take a lot to get this team to flunk out, considering their schedule isn’t completely insane.

Now the reason why an 0-8 finish would cause an alarm is because the Suns need to prove themselves as a legitimate threat heading into the future. Remember, this team is supposed to be the next big thing, and an 0-8 record would cause the team to take a bunch of steps backward. It would possibly lead to the offseason being murky for some of the pieces, including Devin Booker. The last thing they’d want is Booker demanding a trade come October. We’re blowing it out of the water here, but you get the point.

An 0-8 finish is undoubtedly unlikely, but it’s certainly realistic considering their lack of experience.
