Their ceiling: First round exit

Considering their current situation, a first-round exit is being a little nice for this bubbly Suns squad. Making the playoffs in the Western Conference is a huge challenge in itself, and they’ll be up against some of the toughest lineups in the league.

Already out the bag, they’ll need to win most, if not, all of their eight seeding games to have a legitimate chance at a playoff spot. Putting it in perspective, the Suns have a decent schedule, decent enough to contend for the eighth seed, at best. To summarize, the Suns’ biggest threats come in the form of the LA Clippers, the Miami Heat, and the Oklahoma City Thunder, three powerhouse squads. Already, they’ll need to face a massive hump in getting into the playoffs, keep in mind that they’ll be in contention with some serious lineups.

The Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans are all challengers that are in contention for that final eighth seed in the Western Conference. No offense to Kings or Spurs fans, but we all know their chances are nil. And, if all goes right for the Suns, in the best-case scenario, they’ll be facing either the Los Angeles Lakers or the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs. Just picture the Suns trying to joust with either powerhouse team in a seven-game series.

The best realistic scenario would see these Phoenix Suns making the playoffs but to no avail beyond that. They’re nowhere near the level of the Lakers or the Clippers, at all, that should be obvious enough to spot out. Even some of the better teams in the Western Conference, just aren’t on the same level as those top teams, so it’d be surprising to see the Suns get somewhat close to taking a game in a series.

Still, the best realistic case would result in the Suns making the playoffs.
