4. THE KNICKS

Seriously, where does one even start with the New York Knicks? This season, any season, it really doesn’t matter. The Knicks have had a remarkable comedy of errors this season after completely whiffing on last summer’s draft lottery and free agency.

They fired head coach David Fizdale in early December after a 4-18 start. Then they fired team president Steve Mills right before the NBA trade deadline, something only the Knicks would do.

They hired Steve Stoute to improve the team’s image, and he immediately went on ESPN’s First Take and essentially announced that interim head coach Mike Miller would be the odd man out for consideration of the job.

This forced the Knicks to distance themselves from his remarks:

Finally, for now, Knicks owner James Dolan and famous superfan Spike Lee quarreled over what appears to be the entrance he was supposed to use to enter Madison Square Garden. The Knicks apparently even ambushed Lee with a photograph of him and Dolan shaking hands to settle their argument.

Regardless of who is right or wrong in the case of Dolan v. Lee, the New York Knicks are a team that simply cannot stay out of its own way.
