1. That glorious weekend

The Los Angeles Lakers were incredibly unlucky to have the NBA season cut short, right after showcasing an incredible weekend of performances against both the Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers.

On Friday, March 6, they defeated the Bucks in a matchup that featured the top teams in their respective conferences. LeBron bullied Giannis Antetokounmpo all game long in what can only be referred to as a display of sheer force, ultimately dropping 37 points in the win

Next up was a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Clippers, who came in on a six-game winning streak. They were beginning to make a strong case for the top seed in the Western Conference and the Lakers squad made sure to grasp on to that top spot very tightly.

They went ahead to defeat them as well in a packed Staples Center that was technically a Clippers arena that day, though it was quite obvious as to who the people cheered for all game long.

Thanks to that weekend, the Lakers rose to the top of NBA.com‘s Power Rankings, ending Milwaukee’s 14-week stint as the champions of this designation.

That weekend, LeBron James made his strongest case yet for this season’s MVP award, as some may even say that he is now more deserving of it than Giannis. Davis is now edging closer and closer to his first Defensive Player of the Year award and the Lakers continued rolling.
