This only ranks as an honorable mention due to the level of competition.

The rest of the games will primarily be against top teams in the league, and sorry to say it, but the Charlotte Hornets do not fit that criterion.

At the time of this game, Jayson Tatum’s career-high was 34 points against the Brooklyn Nets last season. He broke that record in this game, putting up 39 on the heads of the Charlotte Hornets.

A common joke of Tatum’s game was that he couldn’t eclipse 30 points and very rarely even reach that mark. He had done so just once in his career up to this point, but this game was the start of something special for Tatum.

For the Boston Celtics, in 2020, Tatum has hit the 30 point mark or better in 10 games, proving his ability to be a deadly scorer in multiple facets of the game.

We should all look back on this game as a checkpoint in Tatum’s season. This performance allowed the NBA world a different view into what he was capable of, and he has only amped up his level of play since then.
