Jayson Tatum has taken his game to a new level for the Boston Celtics, so it’s interesting to recount his top performances from the season.

Jayson Tatum is now in superstar conversation, and Boston Celtics fans couldn’t be happier.

Whether people want to admit it or not, he has ascended into that level of play and has proven his doubters wrong by doing it consistently, too, which was the main knock on his game.

It seems as if Kemba Walker joining the club to replace Kyrie Irving did wonder for his confidence. He now gets more touches per game, as his usage rate has jumped up from 21.8 last season to 27.9 this season (NBA.com).

That is a pretty large jump for a third-year player, but it hasn’t been met with extremely decreased efficiency or worse stats. Quite the opposite has happened throughout the season.

Tatum is averaging career highs across the board, but his efficiency could be better. However, this is the first time in his career he’s been given the responsibility of being a team’s No. 1 option. Due to that, it makes sense that his percentages could be improved upon.

What Tatum has fixed this season is his shot selection, a trend I pointed out in a recent article detailing his ascent to “superstardom”.

He is taking smarter shots, and overall making the right choice on offense. When he gets his shot in rhythm, though, it can be scary for the opposition.

The NBA world has been put on notice by Tatum’s evolving skill and he has since left a lasting impression with some of his performances.

While Celtics fans remain starved of Tatum highlights for the next 30 days, the next best thing is to recap his prior games and rejoice that the best is yet to come for the 22-year old.
