6. The end of the 15-game winning streak

Most certainly one of the best moments from this Raptors season was the 15-game win streak that spanned from January 15th until February 12th when they finally lost in Brooklyn to the Nets. The Raptors were playing that game short-handed, as they have done most of the season, with no Marc Gasol or Norman Powell. However, that is no excuse to lose to a team like Brooklyn, which was also short-handed that night, playing without Kyrie Irving.

The Raptors honestly played great defense in that game, holding the Nets to just 101 points, however, the Raps just couldn’t make a shot. Toronto only scored 91 points in this game and while Kyle Lowry had a triple-double, Lowry and Siakam shot a combined 10-of-30 from the field. When your best two players struggle to shoot 30 percent from the field, it’s tough to win a game against anybody.

The worst part about this loss to the Nets is that if they won that game they would have had easy wins against the Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns in the next two (which they did win) and then they could have squared off against the mighty Milwaukee Bucks to see if they could make it 19 straight wins. That would have made their mid-February game against the Bucks just that much more entertaining.
