7. All-Star Weekend

The Raptors had three much-deserved representatives in the NBA’s 69th All-Star game with Nick Nurse as the coach, Pascal Siakam starting and Kyle Lowry coming off the bench, all for Team Giannis. And while Kyle Lowry may have had himself an incredible All-Star game performance with 13 points, eight assists and two clutch charges drawn, the rest of the Raptors roster had a less than stellar All-Star experience.

To start off All-Star Saturday Night, Pascal Siakam lost the skill challenge. While Siakam started off looking really good defeating Patrick Beverley in the first round, he then lost to Bam Adebayo (the eventual champ) in the second round because he couldn’t make a wide-open three! Not only that but Siakam only played 18 minutes in the All-Star game, but he did have a reasonable 15 points in his stints on the floor.

Not only did Siakam have a middling performance at All-Star weekend but Terence Davis wasn’t even there to begin with. Davis, who has had an incredible rookie campaign, didn’t make the Rising Stars game. A lot of Raptors fans were surprised to see Davis not make the team, especially considering Zion Williamson, who had only played eight games at the time, made the team.

Last but certainly not least, Nick Nurse, Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam all lost the All-Star game to Team LeBron. Just a terribly disappointing outcome for the defending champions to not be able to walk away with an All-Star game victory.
