Orlando Magic: 3 potential off season homes for Aaron Gordon
The Minnesota Timberwolves
Fresh into a new era, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally landed their point guard of the future in D’Angelo Russell. They traded Andrew Wiggins and picks at the deadline to secure the 24-year old.
Between him, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Malik Beasley, new executive Gersson Rosas has put together quite the core for the Timberwolves. But adding another piece may be imminent, and Gordon would be a near-perfect fit next to Towns.

For Minnesota, the two-time should be dunk champion adds a scoring punch and some rebounding insurance while Towns floats along the perimeter. He’s another pick-and-roll partner and lob threat for Russell, who grew used to that role in Brooklyn with Jarrett Allen.
A starting lineup featuring Russell, Beasley, Gordon, Josh Okogie, and Towns fits not only the timeline for the Timberwolves but allows them plenty of time to evaluate each piece. All five are locked in for the next few years, aside from Beasley, who’s fully expected to resign this summer.
In any potential deal, it’s going to take a first-round pick, or a young talent like Jarrett Culver. His future with the team may not exceed that of sixth man upon Russell’s arrival, but it’s hard to see the Timberwolves being ready to sell on him already.
Instead, Minnesota could offer a package featuring one of Okogie/Hernangomez and their incoming first-round pick via Brooklyn, who are free-falling down the Eastern Conference (or at least they were when the NBA suspended its season on Wednesday).
