3 reasons to watch the rest of this Minnesota Timberwolves season
Determining Malik Beasley’s fit and value
One of the newest Timberwolves, Malik Beasley, was traded to Minnesota almost entirely because of his free agent status next summer.
He won’t be entirely free, no, Beasley will be a restricted free agent. But regardless, his price tag will no doubt be more than the Denver Nuggets want to spend.

Now in Minnesota, and playing real starting minutes, Beasley is thriving. There’s no question about the Timberwolves’ desire to bring him back. The question is how much.
In his ten appearances for the team, he’s averaging 21.1 and 5.2 rebounds on a 41/43/73 shooting split. That’s not only good but an incredible jump from his numbers in Denver.
Beasley’s become a full-time starter in Minnesota, and that’s likely not changing.
He’s scored 20+ or more points on six different occasions already in nine games. In three years and some change with the Nuggets, he accomplished that feat just 12 times.
Provided the Timberwolves deem his backcourt fit with Russell a viable option, they’ll break the bank if that’s what it takes to bring him back next season. But paying attention to how they play together for the rest of the season will be the biggest influence of that decision.
