1. Denver Nuggets will be playing in the conference finals

I can almost hear the naysayers calling to have my head examined on this one. Yes, I know the LA Clippers have a pair of All-Star forwards in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George — who can get it done at both ends of the floor.

I am also aware of the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers added another top-10 player to the roster during the summer in Anthony Davis and that LeBron James has issued a warning to his critics about the upcoming season.

With that sentiment in mind, it would make for an interesting matchup if these two ball clubs faced each other in the postseason with an NBA Finals appearance on the line, right?

But before we go penciling in either of these teams into the conference finals, let’s not forget about what the Denver Nuggets did last season. Again, they finished with the second-best record in the West and were a top-10 ball club on offense and defense.

They had the best home record in the league at 34-7. Let’s also remember that they were one game away from advancing to their first conference finals appearance in a decade.

Lastly, it is also worth mentioning that the Nuggets have brought back all of their key players from last year’s playoff run and they added Jerami Grant, who turned in a career season (13.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest) with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

dark. Next. Each franchise's best duo

Taking these factors into consideration, I’m predicting that the Nuggets will not only finish the regular season with one of the top records in the conference, but they will be playing either the Lakers or the Clippers in the Western Conference finals.
