2. Fred VanVleet

At first thought, when you think of Toronto Raptors free agents in 2020 that could benefit a team, you wouldn’t be wrong to think of Kyle Lowry. But the veteran guard has already stated his desire to stay in Toronto, but backup point guard Fred VanVleet has said nothing of the sort.

VanVleet came into the public eye two years ago, as his play during the 2017-18 season warranted a Sixth Man of the Year nomination.

Then, during the 2018-19 season, VanVleet took his game to another level, averaging his career bests in points and assists per game, 11.0 and 4.8 respectively.

One area where the Minnesota Timberwolves could use a lot of improvement is in there depth, especially at point guard, and especially in Jeff Teague does not return to Minnesota.

Should the Wolves need to add a high-IQ guard that could act as a solid floor general for a developing second unit, VanVleet could be one of the top prospects.
