2. Luke Kennard

Luke Kennard, was selected by the Detroit Pistons in 2017 with the 12th overall pick and has had a solid career thus far. He finished the 2018-19 season averaging 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game and shot 39.4 percent from three.

During his rookie season, Kennard saw the floor quite often due to the franchise’s shooting guard vacancy. During his rookie season, he played 73 games and only missed eight due to injury. However, in his second season injury continued to plague him which affected his playing time.

After being drafted fans second-guessed the selection by the front office, but he has made an impression in Detroit. The 6-foot-5 guard will have a breakout season because of the team’s lack of shooting guard depth and his ability to shoot the 3 at a high level (39.4 percent).

His shooting ability makes him a dangerous threat and keeps defenses honest.

In addition to his shooting, he can finish at the rim with either hand, play defense in spurts and handle the ball when needed. Kennard will enter the season as a starter and will have the green light to shoot.

Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond need Kennard to have a good year shooting the ball. When he is shooting at a high level it allows the frontcourt to post up, catch the ball in the pick & roll and crash the glass.

If healthy he will be able to take the next step as a two-player and his shooting will only continue to improve.
