Chicago Bulls

A young roster void of almost any veteran talent but packed with young exciting prospects who can play the game at a high pace, the Chicago Bulls lack a player of Carmelo Anthony’s experience.

A player that knows how to “get buckets” when the defense sets and slows the game down, a pure shooter like Anthony could be the perfect player/coach for Coby White to help him take his scoring ability to the next level.

With only Otto Porter Jr. to contend with at the small forward position, Anthony would be provided with the opportunity to fight for a starting spot on this young roster.

Either as a starter or a bench player, Anthony can bring balance to this young team as a veteran role player able to provide a scoring punch during games.

Not a championship-contending team, the Bulls may find it difficult to entice him to Chicago while the front office may just feel like adding a player such as Anthony would be detrimental to what they are trying to achieve there.

He would take touches away from the younger guys and comes with the perception of being a locker room distraction.

However, there is no better player still available on the free-agent market who can not only impact winning but provide advice to the young core on how to reach that next level.

While Anthony does not come with championship experience, he is undoubtedly one of the best players of his generation.

That generation is still impacting the NBA today via LeBron James and Chris Paul and having Anthony on a roster to help improve the younger players does not seem so counter-intuitive should Anthony be aware that is what he is signing up for.

It should be noted, however, that the Bulls briefly had Anthony on their roster last January, acquiring him in a trade from the Rockets before immediately waiving him.
