New York Knicks

A return home for Carmelo Anthony could be just what he needs, this is the team he feels related to, the team whose colors he bleeds.

New York could use him too, Anthony would be a good veteran to learn from for Kevin Knox while supplying firepower from the bench, also offering options as a starter depending who the team is facing in the upcoming game.

Anthony has spoken of knowing he needs to accept a role in order to find a roster spot, this may be true on a rebuilding team such as the Knicks also.

Would they really want to take important developmental minutes away from their future forward in Kevin Knox to appease the ego of their fallen star?

David Fizdale would be getting a sure-fire scorer added to the roster, but he needs to ensure everyone knows the role expected of them heading into the new NBA year.

James Dolan may also have his head turned by the prospect of Anthony returning to Madison Square Garden, as currently, the Knicks need something, anything, to get fans into the seats on game nights.

The return of their former battle sergeant may be enough to entice the interest of the fan base in the short term at least.

Having played 412 games over seven years for the Knicks, scoring 10,186 points with 2,865 rebounds and 1,328 assists, Carmelo Anthony has already etched himself into New York folklore.

A return would see him further endear himself to a fan base he so loyally embraced during his time with New York.

Would he want to return to where he was unable to win a title though? surely this has to be a factor in his decision making — but only if there are multiple offers.
