3. Michael likes Zion

No, the guy who sits on the throne of being arguably the greatest player of all-time doesn’t need to like each and every player the brand that dawns his name signs. But it sure doesn’t hurt.

Jordan Brand founder Michael Jordan said in a statement:

"“Zion’s incredible determination, character and play are inspiring. He’s an essential part of the new talent that will help lead the brand into the future. He told us he would ‘shock the world,’ and asked us to believe him. We do.”"

Of course, Jordan hasn’t had the best of luck evaluating players in the past. Having had a role in drafting athletes like Adam Morrison, Emeka Okafor and Kwame Brown. These players had a certain level of hype and didn’t live up to it.

For the younger generations, some of you may not even know who Adam Morrison is.

But this is a can’t miss sign by the shoe and clothing company.

Even if, God forbid, Williamson were to have some sort of catastrophic injury in his first few years or simply bust due to his lack of a jump shot, massive frame weighing him down, Nike will easily get a return on their investment with Williamson.

The guy has brought national attention to what has been known as a dismal franchise, more or less since its inception. I’m sure having the name Zion attached to a shoe could help in marketing.
