Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers

Maybe the most likely star to be traded next is Kevin Love.

While Love is still an extremely productive player (17 points per game and 11 rebounds per game last season after returning from injury) he doesn’t fit the youth rebuild in Cleveland, being the only player over 30 years old on the roster for next season (assuming that J.R. Smith gets traded or waived on Monday).

Unlike most of the stars who have changed teams in 2019 this move may be a decision by the Cavaliers front office rather than a request from Love.

With the Western Conference seemingly wide open due to the fall of the Warriors and multiple teams in the East vying to take Toronto’s spot as conference kings with the absence of Kawhi Leonard, a team that feels like they are a veteran stretch big man away from making a run at a title may be willing to give up assets for Love.

The Cavaliers are also currently over the luxury tax line by $12 million, probably motivating them even further to trade away Love’s large contract for financial relief for a team that will again be at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
