3. Dallas Mavericks

For the first time in several years, the Dallas Mavericks have a real shot at making the playoffs. With the new duo of Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, they are poised to make some noise in the Western Conference.

Outside of that young, promising duo, Dallas also has several solid guards in Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Brunson, and Seth Curry. The only position they are really lacking is a true center.

With an injury-prone big like Porzingis, there is a good chance the Mavericks will try to play him at power forward for the majority of his minutes. This leaves Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell to play a haul of minutes at center and both are very undersized.

While the recent acquisition of Boban Marjanovic was a nice pickup, he has shown the past couple of seasons that he is most efficient in limited minutes.

Dwight Howard would have a chance to be the starting center on a young, exciting Dallas team. A true center, playing alongside Porzingis would give opposing offenses fits when trying to attack the rim.

Dallas also is a team that still has quite a bit of money to work with this summer. Striking out on some of the big names in free agency has left them with money to spend on a supporting cast. If Howard is looking for more than a minimum contract, the Mavericks may be his best bet.

Taking the risk of Howard being an issue in the locker room could prove to be smart if he is able to produce on the court.

Some of the best Dallas Mavericks teams in recent years were ones with a true dominant rebounding center, which is a mold Dwight Howard fits.
