5. Sixers bring back Harris –- 5 years, $180 million

After bowing out to the Boston Celtics in the second round of the 2018 NBA playoffs, the Philadelphia Sixers bolstered their roster with the additions of Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris.

While the starting lineup didn’t have the opportunity to play a ton of time on the court together, the Sixers managed to advance to the second round of the playoffs for the second straight year, this time forcing a Game 7 against the Raptors.

Unfortunately, thanks to this iconic shot by Kawhi Leonard, Philadelphia’s season would come to a disappointing end yet again.

It was reported that the Sixers offered a max deal to Jimmy Butler, but he rejected the offer, opting to take his talents to South Beach where he would be the No. 1 guy.

Bearing this mind, it was imperative for the Sixers to retain Harris considering they gave up Landry Shamet and two future first-round picks when they acquired him from the Los Angeles Clippers prior to the trade deadline back in February.

Harris compiled averages of 18.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest on 46.9 percent shooting from the field.

After reaching on the agreement with the Sixers, Harris stated that the team had unfinished business in terms of delivering a championship to the city of Brotherly Love. T

hanks to the Sixers retaining Harris, along with coming to terms on a multi-year deal with Al Horford (four years, $109 million), the team has positioned itself for deep playoff run next season.
