With every team looking to improve its roster for 2019-20, here’s a look at the most crucial commitments that have gone down since the 2019 NBA free agency period began nearly a week ago.

The 2018-19 NBA season concluded with the Toronto Raptors knocking off a shorthanded Golden State Warriors squad in six games to win the team’s first title in franchise history.

As sports fans know, though, there isn’t much of a window for the champions to celebrate as each of the teams around the league attempts to improve for the upcoming season.

It has been nearly a week since the free agency period began and it got off to a fast start. On the first day, multiple players agreed to contracts that totaled more than $3 billion.

And while some of the agreed upon contracts can be viewed as massive over-payments, there are some instances in which NBA teams either did what they needed to do to take the next step, or stay in contention going into the 2019-20 NBA season.

Here’s a look at the five most crucial agreements that have taken place in NBA free agency thus far.

Please note: Contracts cannot become official until July 6.Â
