With the 2019 NBA Draft in the books, the Philadelphia 76ers now turn their full attention to free agency. Here are a few notable goals for the summer.
2019 Free Agency is upon us, and it already appears to be one that nobody will soon forget — especially the Philadelphia 76ers.
General manager Elton Brand is entering his first offseason at the helm. Judging by all he’s done to alter the franchise thus far — trading two key pieces to the Minnesota Timberwolves for All-Star Jimmy Butler, and then making a deadline move for Tobias Harris and two other veteran role players — it’s obvious he has a vision for this team.
How that vision winds up playing out will be crucial. He has already addressed that the priority is to have a future core with Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Butler and Harris.
After failing in the highly endorsed star hunt last summer, the team has done everything to see to it that a repeat isn’t going to become a reality. But the recipe for a successful offseason will come at a steep price.
