Eric Moreland

Eric Moreland followed a similar track to Jodie Meeks this season with Toronto. He signed a 10-day contract with the Raptors in the spring, then didn’t get a second one, only to join the Raptors for the stretch run and the postseason.

The power forward has struggled to stick in the NBA throughout his career. He played a smattering of games for the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns, and once managed to play 67 games for the Detroit Pistons in 2017-18.

His time in Toronto wasn’t particularly memorable, outside of the championship parade of course. He actually played eight games in the playoffs, four more than he played in the regular season. During the postseason, Moreland averaged 3.5 minutes per game, pulling down 1.6 rebounds per contest during his first postseason experience.

Moreland is slowly moving towards the wrong side of the age curve (he’ll turn 28 years old next season), but he still has potential. Just a couple of years ago, he earned a handful of awards in the (then) D-League, including an All-Star nomination, an All-Defensive Team nod and an All-NBA D-League Third team nod.

Some team will sign him to the minimum, but it doesn’t seem likely the Raptors will be that team.

Verdict: Sell
