Jordan Loyd

Jordan Loyd impressed Toronto enough during NBA Summer League last year to earn a two-way contract with the team. The guard managed to get into 12 games with the NBA squad over the course of this season, where he acquitted himself decently. He averaged 2.4 points per game, knocking down half of his 3-point attempts, albeit in a ludicrously small sample size.

While his contract is set to expire, the possibility the Raptors bring Loyd back in a limited fashion looms large. In fact, there’s already been an overture, as the team has decided to play Loyd during the upcoming Summer League.

Loyd didn’t make the postseason roster, although he has the glory of having a championship on his resume regardless. Like the other guards who are set to be free agents, there’s simply not enough playing time to go around; Loyd will find himself blocked from major minutes again next season.

Perhaps if he impresses in Summer League, the Raptors give him another whirl. If not, he’ll always go down as a champion and as the guy who made the Kawhi Leonard playoff buzzer beater picture as iconic as it has already become.

Verdict: Sell
