3. Time to show Boogie Cousins some love

Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins had never appeared in a playoff series prior to this season. When he sustained a quad injury approximately six weeks ago, it would have been safe to wonder if he was done for the rest of the postseason.

Fortunately for the Warriors, Cousins put together a signature performance in Game 2. While he didn’t shoot the ball all that well, going 3-for-8 from the field, he scored 11 points, pulled down 10 boards and handed out six assists in 28 minutes of action.

To put those numbers into perspective, it should be noted that Cousins hadn’t played in 45 days prior to his Finals debut in Game 1 — a contest in which he finished with a forgettable stat line of three points and two rebounds in just eight minutes of action.

As expected, Cousins appeared fatigued at times. But with the Warriors losing two more guys to injury — Klay Thompson (hamstring) and Kevon Looney (chest contusion) — Cousins’ performance could not have come at a better time.
