Andre Iguodala hits dagger 3-pointer

With both teams having led by a double-digit margin, the pace of the game was somewhat frenetic in the waning moments. The Raptors had just cut the Warriors’ lead to two points (106-104) with 26.9 seconds to play.

Conventional wisdom says that if you cannot force a turnover, you try to foul a not-so-great free-throw shooter at some point on the ensuing possession. In this instance, that would have been Draymond Green.

The Raptors did not utilize this strategy, however, which eventually led to this uncontested 3-point attempt from Andre Iguodala.

This back-breaking shot sealed the deal for the Warriors. What was impressive about this moment was that before this game, Iggy hadn’t knocked down a 3-point shot in nearly a month. He shot 0-for-7 from beyond the arc in the Western Conference Finals and he missed all four of his attempts in the series opener.

Whether the Raptors disrespected Iguodala, as Stephen Curry claimed, remains to be seen. However, he willingly took and made the biggest shot of the game for Golden State when the outcome was still somewhat in doubt.
