Strengths

When Porter arrived in the Windy City, the Bulls were just 12-42. Bearing that mind, Chicago was hoping his addition to the roster would inject a bit of life into an offense that struggled at times, to put it nicely.

Right on cue, Porter delivered in his Bulls debut — a road game against the playoff-bound Brooklyn Nets. In that contest, Porter scored 18 points to go along with four rebounds. He shot an efficient 7-for-9 from the floor and connected on four of his five attempts from 3-point range.

Although he appeared in just 15 games for Chicago, Porter compiled averages of 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest, while proving to be a viable third scoring option alongside Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen. Porter’s shooting numbers were also respectable as he shot 48.3 percent overall and 48.8 percent from beyond the arc.

It is also worth noting that Chicago posted a 6-2 mark in Porter’s first eight games with the team. At the very least, the Bulls acquired a scorer and a decent rebounder. And as a career 40.5 percent shooter from long range, Porter falls into the category of being a legitimate floor spacer as well.
