3. Russell Westbrook‘s triple-doubles still result in wins

Russell Westbrook once again averaged a triple-double this season. This was his third season in a row to accomplish this historic achievement.

On the season, he averaged 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists per game. His 10.7 assists per game were the most of any player in the NBA.

Over the course of this season, Westbrook racked up a total of 34 triple-doubles. From late-January into February, he also broke the record for most games in a row with a triple-double, with 11 straight.

In the last game of the regular season, Russ tied former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson in career triple-doubles with 138. The only player with more triple-doubles than Westbrook now is Hall-of-Famer Oscar Robertson, who finished his career with 181.

Not only are they impressive from a statistical point of view, but they also result in team success for the Thunder. Oklahoma City went 24-10 in the regular season when Russell Westbrook produced a triple-double. In the playoffs, OKC lost both games when Westbrook achieved this stat line, but overall, the Thunder won the majority of the time when it happened this season.
