9. Thunder beat Pacers after going on 24-0 run

The Thunder played their best this season when they played to their greatest strength: defense. When they played their best on that end, it usually led to missed shots and created turnovers.

When they were able to force missed shots and turnovers, they were able to get out and run. OKC was one of the best teams in terms of fast breaks this season, and against the Indiana Pacers on March 27, they showed their true potential.

At the end of the first half, the Thunder trailed 54-45. It looked like OKC would lose another game and fall in the standings again, but in the third quarter, they went on an NBA season-best 24-0 run.

OKC scored 31 points in the quarter to the Pacers’ 15 points and came out of the third — and the game — with the lead.

According to Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press, here’s what Paul George said after the game:

"”Honestly, I notice the stops more than us scoring. I noticed we were getting stops and we were getting out. I felt the pace was on our side and I felt the momentum was on our side.”"

This game showed that if the Thunder buckled down and played to their greatest strength (defense), they would be a tough out in the playoffs.
