The Locks

The only way these players aren’t on the team is if the sun crashes into our planet.

  • Jaren Jackson Jr.
  • Chandler Parsons
  • Ivan Rabb
  • Bruno Caboclo
  • Kyle Anderson
  • Dillon Brooks
  • Delon Wright

Jaren Jackson Jr. is the most obvious pick here, as the prized rookie is seen as the future of the team. If Jackson hadn’t gotten hurt, it’s likely he would have finished second in Rookie of the Year voting. Fans and management alike are praying his quad injury will be all healed over the summer and he can return for a strong sophomore season.

Chandler Parsons is earning a $25.1 million the following season and is going to be quite difficult to trade during the offseason. He could be a salary dump during the regular season though.

Ivan Rabb showed flashes of being a solid backup center this year and finished strong, averaging 10.8 points and eight rebounds per game in April. His finishing still needs some work, but with a cheap contract, he’ll be back in Memphis.

Bruno Caboclo may never reach his original potential, but his length and versatility proved quite useful for the Grizzlies. He’s still young and comes without a hefty price tag. Kyle Anderson will be in the second season of his four-year deal with the team. He’s a young player and heady defender who isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Dillon Brooks has proven to be a solid player and he comes dirt cheap. His season was sadly cut short by injury this season. The Grizzlies are going to pick up his team option.

Delon Wright, seen as the “prize” in the Marc Gasol trade, finished the season strong with three triple-doubles in his last four games. The Grizzlies will undoubtedly be working on a new contract for Wright as he’s fit to take over the starting point guard spot.
