Cleveland Cavaliers: 5 reasons for optimism despite poor season

4. Cedi Osman
Before the season, Cleveland Cavaliers fans had high hopes for the 23-year-old sophomore, Cedi Osman. People who watched the 2017-18 season understood that Osman had a ton of untapped potential and a serious desire to become a better player.
As many of us expected, Osman has blossomed into a bright young star. Averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, Cedi was selected to the 2019 Rising Stars Challenge.
Osman did deal with a bit of a shooting slump during the first few months of the season. This was the first time he had been a crucial member of an NBA team and his inexperience showed. Despite this, he has maintained a positive attitude through everything and it is paying off big time.
Since late January, Osman is putting up 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He has found his rhythm offensively, shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from deep on nearly six 3-point attempts a game.
Osman is growing quickly and will continue to get better as time goes on. The Cavaliers have truly struck gold with Osman.
