1. Make it to the NBA Finals

It has to be Finals or bust for the Thunder this season. They have shown they can beat the best in the league and their best players are playing well night in and night out.

Anything can happen in a seven-game series and the Thunder should look to go deep in these playoffs. They might not have the depth to compete with other teams but in the playoffs, teams do not go as deep into their bench.

They have been able to still put up points with the best of them by using their defense to get easy baskets. They are fifth in scoring with 115.4 points per game so in high-scoring games, they will be there with teams that are scoring machines, especially because their defense can get stops.

A strong defense will come in handy during the playoffs when things will be tight. As of now, they are the best defense in the West. The Bucks and Indiana Pacers have the top two spots in defensive rating, respectively. Defense wins championships, as the old saying goes.

After having a season last year that they feel could’ve been better, they were able to retain Paul George and make their team better. The OKC Thunder have what it takes to make it to the Finals. Now they are in a critical point in the season where they will be able to make that statement a reality.
