2. Get a higher seed

Sometimes the playoffs come down to who has home-court advantage. In a Game 7, home-court could decide a series. The Thunder have the opportunity to get the No. 1 seed as they are only four games back in the Western Conference standings.

There are 25 games left for OKC. They will have to keep up the good play. The schedule is mixed with tough teams and games that the Thunder should win on paper.

They will face the Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks once down the home stretch, on top of two games against the Nuggets and Toronto Raptors.

The Thunder have beaten the Rockets twice, the Warriors once, the Sixers once, the Spurs once and the Bucks once. They are 0-2 against the Nuggets and haven’t played the Raptors yet this season.

The Thunder should be fine in the upcoming games in the second half of the season, as they have proven to be able to compete with the best. If they take care of the games they’re expected to win, the Thunder should be able to compete for the No. 1 seed.

A higher seed will be tough to get as the Warriors have the best starting lineup in the league and the Nuggets have proven to be tough to figure out thanks to their depth, but with Paul George and Westbrook playing so well, anything is possible.
