Phoenix Suns: 5 trade possibilities for Troy Daniels
5. Utah Jazz
Donovan Mitchell‘s recent uptick in efficiency has definitely helped, but the Utah Jazz are still ranked 20th in offensive rating (107.5) and 21st in 3-point percentage on the season. They sport a top-five defense, but have only just started to find their rhythm on offense.
The arrival of 3-point marksman Kyle Korver has worked wonders on that end of the floor, with the Jazz improving to 13th in offensive rating (110.2) and eighth in 3-point percentage (36.8 percent) since he came to Salt Lake City. Adding in another floor-spacer like Daniels for Thabo Sefolosha, a piece of the wing rotation who hardly plays, makes sense on paper.
Sefolosha has been sidelined for the last seven games by a hamstring injury, but he wasn’t really earning ample minutes before that either. Averaging just 11.1 minutes per game in his 26 appearances this season, Sefolosha is one of the more expendable players on the fringe of Utah’s rotation. He’s shooting 46.4 percent from 3 this year, but it’s come on a meager 1.1 attempts per game.
He’d more than likely be bought out in Phoenix, but even if a solution couldn’t be reached there, he’s an expiring contract. The Jazz owe the Cleveland Cavaliers their 2020 second round pick, so it couldn’t be that year, but another future second-rounder would suffice.
