4. Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks have placed a potent 3-point attack around MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo, but its potency is mostly based on volume shooting. The Bucks are second in the league in both 3-point attempts and makes per game, but are only shooting 35 percent, which ranks 18th.

Volume shooting may be working now, during the regular season, but when defenses clamp down in the playoffs, having more reliable shooters in the rotation will help keep that floor spread. Enter Troy Daniels, who would only cost Jason Smith and a second round draft pick:

Smith, who was traded to the Bucks from the Washington Wizards in early December, has played in just six games for Milwaukee, averaging 6.7 minutes per game during that time. The seven-footer has a reputation for spacing the floor, but has only made 33.5 percent of his 3s for his career.

Rather than just let Smith’s contract expire and carry on with an inefficient, high-volume 3-point onslaught, the Bucks could add Daniels, who’s made 44.3 percent of his catch-and-shoot 3s this year. Milwaukee owes a second round pick to either the Philadelphia 76ers or Sacramento Kings this year, and their 2021 second-rounder will go to Cleveland, but a 2020 pick would work.

Thon Maker would also work financially, but it’d be the Suns sending over a second round pick, and that’s hardly enough value for a 21-year-old with two-way upside.
