Cleveland Cavaliers: 7 trade proposals for Kevin Love
By Tony Pesta
7. Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors are in a position to finally claim the Eastern Conference crown. With newly added MVP candidate, Kawhi Leonard, it looks as if the Raptors are going to be real contenders this season. Of course, LeBron James no longer blocking their path helps as well.
However, this Toronto team is far different from the one that LeBron and company were dismantling in the past. Leonard has a case to be a top-five NBA player while Kyle Lowry, Danny Green and Pascal Siakam have been no joke either. The Raptors have an elite defense with an even better offense.
A trade for Kevin Love could be exactly what Toronto needs to push itself over the top. The Eastern Conference is loaded with worthy competition, but adding another All-Star to the roster would give Toronto the strongest rotation in the conference.
In return, the Cavaliers would welcome Serge Ibaka, who is a profound shot-blocker. This would buff up the struggling Cleveland defense, as well as help them spread the floor a bit on offense.
Most importantly, the Cavs would gain the Raptors’ 2019 second round pick and their 2021 first-round pick. As a franchise attempting to build through the draft, stockpiling picks is the best thing Cleveland can do.
